RAY PLASTICS

First released in 1966 by Ray Plastics, Rapid-Fire Tracer Gun used lightweight circular discs. The discs launched from the gun using a spring-powered mechanism that provided enough spin to allow distance and accuracy. Later in 1966, the tracer gun had its package printing modified with images and words from Star Trek, making it the first licensed Star Trek product.

Also from the 1960s, Ray's Flying Saucer was launched by a slingshot.
