IMPERIAL FLIP-A DISC

Imperial Toy Corporation was founded in Southern California by Fred Kort in 1969. Kort's strategy was to follow existing toy trends then hit the market at a lower price point. His first product was the Hi-Bounce Ball produced to undercut Wham-O's Super Ball. The trend continued with Imperial's answer to Wham-O's Mini Frisbee, the Flip-A Disc. The Flip-A Disc is shown in the 1975 catalog as a display box containing 6 dozen unwrapped 3.75" diameter Minis in 6 assorted colors retailing for 15 cents each. By 1976, the Flip-A Disc no longer appears in the catalog.
